I'm thinking about making my own cloth menstrual pads. Can you give some useful advice from things you've learned making your own?  Thanks.

i was thinking of purchasing either the Hobbycraft Mini sewing machine or the JML Easy stitch as they are nice and cheap and i need a sewing machine desperately. do you think that these sewing machines would be able to sew through waterproof nylon fabric and/or 4 layers of terry towelling? thanks

I bought wayyy too much fabric to make pads so I was thinking of making extras to give away to the less fortunate. However after my eighth one the sewing machine started going wierd. I was using the zig zag stitch thing, hoping to make them more durable, however the stiches started going wierd and the back strings ( from the bobbins) were showing ( Read more... )

I would like to start making my own cloth pads at some point and was wondering what type of sewing machine those of you already making pads might recommend?  Also, how much did you pay for yours?  It's going to be a while before I can afford one, but I'd like to get some info for future reference.

Ugh!  Help!  I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, but I cannot sew a nicely rounded corner tonight to save my life!  And since I'm doing a pad in the T&T method, it's really obvious, especially where I didn't sew the corners well before I turned it back out to topstitch.  This is particularly a problem with the tips of the pad's wings - ironically, ( Read more... )
